Amakhosi Duo Making Swallows Switch
Moroka Swallows are being ambitious as they return to professional football, and are set to snap up two youngsters from Kaizer Chiefs in the coming days.
Swallows, who are set to remain known as Maccabi FC for the 2019/20 campaign, have big ambitions after buying a status in the GladAfrica Championship, with Zeca Marques working hard to put together the best team possible at short notice.
The legendary South African outfit are back in the Premier Soccer League, largely thanks to Panyaza Lesufi, and the Siya crew has been informed that they are in the process of signing both Itumeleng Shopane and Ayanda Rorwana on loan from the Glamour Boys in order to bolster their ranks.
Shopane, 22, and Rorwana, 21, are eager to make a name for themselves at senior level, and Marques has thanked the Glamour Boys for allowing them the chance to do that with newly reformed The Dube Birds.
Speaking to the crew, Marques said, “Yeah, both Itumeleng and Ayanda are going to be joining us, the moves are practically done. I’d like to say a big thank you to Chiefs for the way things have been handled, and also for giving us two players that we think will fit in nicely.
“They play for a big club and we want that kind of mentality this season.”
Swallows’ season gets underway this weekend against TS Galaxy as they look to get their new era off to a winning start in Dobsonville on Saturday.
