The imminent return of Samir Nurkovic for Kaizer Chiefs doesn’t excite the club’s former midfielder Junior Khanye who is worried that the team’s rhythm could be affected by the changes to the line-ups in the second round of the season. 

Following his long-term injury, Nurkovic is expected to return for Amakhosi as he has been working on regaining his fitness after recovering from injury.

The 29-year-old Serbian will be hoping to get some minutes on the field after missing the better part of the season but Khanye is worried that striker’s return could affect the progress of Khama Biiliat and Keagan Dolly who have been doing well up front for Chiefs this season.     

“That’s good for Kaizer Chiefs fans although he’s not the kind of a player that Chiefs should be relying on in my opinion. Chiefs have been winning games playing with a false number nine and Khama Billiat is doing very well in that role. I still don’t understand how Samir Nurkovic plays,” said Khanye.

“I am a fan of Kaizer Chiefs, but Nurkovic’s return doesn’t excite me because the team has been doing well without him. I know the fans are excited, but I am not. Keagan Dolly is another player who has been doing well in playing as a false number nine and the team has been winning,” he added.
