He played just two games in 2019 and his Kaizer Chiefs contract will expire at the end of the season, but the club says a return is on the cards for Joseph Molangoane.
The 31-year-old has endured a tough couple of years at Naturena as he battled with some serious injuries, making a comeback in April after eight months out, only to be struck down with injury once again in May.
Now, with talk of a possible exit from Chiefs when his contract expires at the end of June, it has been confirmed that he could start putting his name in the hat for a place in Ernst Middendorp’s squad come early February.
A statement from the club on the versatile midfield man said, “Joseph Molangoane has started running and ball work on the field. He is progressing very well now, but is not back to full training yet. He is expected to make a full recovery and will hopefully be medically fit by the end of this month to commence full training.”
‘Tight’ will be itching to get back out on the field and prove his worth before the season is out if he’s to remain at Naturena beyond the 2019/20 campaign, and has just under six months to show that he deserves a new deal.
