A former Kaizer Chiefs defender has reacted to the Soweto giants drawing the Orlando Stadium as their home ground.
Chiefs will utilise the Orlando Stadium as their ‘home away from home’ for the remaining fixtures of the 2019/20 season, which is set to be concluded over the next four weeks in a biologically safe environment.
All matches will be played behind closed doors.
The Soweto side will restart their Absa Premiership campaign with a clash against Bidvest Wits at the Orlando Stadium on August 12.
Chiefs sit top of the log with a four-point advantage over second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns.
“The boys must just go out and enjoy the game,” former Chiefs defender, Jimmy Joubert said on Amakhosi’s official website.
“Orlando Stadium was always our home. Orlando has a rich history with Kaizer Chiefs… that sentiment, it’s a special stadium. Of course, the players will miss the supporters, as they give the team that energy. It is how it is. They should also not worry about what the other teams are doing when it comes to results. They just need to get their mind in the right place and focus on themselves. If they continue playing as a unit, they will get the results,” he added.
