No Hometown Return For Chiefs Star

Kaizer Chiefs have all but confirmed that Erick Mathoho will not return to action for the club in his home province of Limpopo this weekend with an article on their website.
The 29-year-old centre back hasn’t played for the Glamour Boys since back in December 2018, and has since been recovering from an operation that he underwent on his ankle after he tore ligaments while in action for the club.
‘Tower’ has since resumed full training and will be hoping to get back out on the field before the 2018/19 season is out, and it would have been perfect for him to do so against Black Leopards this weekend in Thohoyandou given the fact that he was born in Tshiondo Village.
Alas, it appears that Mathoho will have to wait for his return to the field after the club confirmed on their website that he will be involved in an activation on Saturday at Thavhani Mall – just behind Thohoyandou Stadium – prior to the game getting underway at 15h00.
The club said on their official site, “The activation will take place from 9:00 until 13:00 at the Thavhani Mall, which is situated right behind the Thohoyandou Stadium. Selected players will be in attendance, including local hero Mulomowandau Mathoho.”
After playing 15+ Absa Premiership games in all of his last eight seasons stretching back to 2010/11, the defender has made just three in 2018/19 in a campaign blighted by injuries and will be eager to get back to his best next time out.
