Gavin Hunt has confirmed yet another injury blow and bemoaned having a small squad as Kaizer Chiefs prepare to take on TS Galaxy on Wednesday night.
The Glamour Boys are looking to bounce back following a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of their bitter rivals Orlando Pirates in the first leg of their MTN8 semi-finals encounter.
And Hunt said he was without youngster Keletso Sifama.
“Tower (Erick Mathoho) was out with injury. We have to get him fit again. We need to do the same with (Willard) Katsande. They are the spine of the team. Keletso Sifama is out with injury, which leaves a gap in our attacking options,” he said on the club’s website.
Chiefs host TS Galaxy at FNB Stadium on Wednesday night in only their third game of the DStv Premiership having so far picked up three points, which came in a win away to Chippa United last week. Amakhosi lost 3-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns in their opener.
“TS Galaxy (whose promotion was a result of the purchased Highlands Park status) are a good side. There are no pushovers in the Premiership. They have gelled and have put a couple of good players together. So, it is not going to be an easy game. The opportunity is there again to win the match. We obviously do not have a big squad, so, the main thing now is to get the players that played the part last season fit again,” Hunt explained.
“We all know one of them which is Samir Nurkovic is not in squad and it is a huge blow for us. He scored a lot of goals last season and you can see we have a challenge already in that area.”
