The four-time league winner with SuperSport United (thrice) and Bidvest Wits will, according to the club, be involved in his 20th Soweto Derby having led the Dube Birds in 16 league games against Amakhosi and Orlando Pirates during his tenure there.
Hunt was Swallows coach from 2002 to 2007 and in the lead up to this evening’s match, he has already been involved in three league derbies – two against Pirates and one against his former club since taking over the reins at Naturena this season.
Chiefs confirmed this on their website on Wednesday morning along with an injury update to as many as five players are considered doubts for the Swallows DStv Premiership clash.
Itumeleng Khune (shoulder) and Daniel Akpeyi (concussion) have both returned to training and will give the Amakhosi goalkeeping department a boost after Bruce Bvuma filled in last week in the defeat away to TTM.
But Erick Mathoho, Khama Billiat and Lebohang Lesako are still on the mend, while Njabulo Blom is suspended following his red card last week.
“I believe the players will rise to the occasion,” Hunt said on the club’s website.
“The guys understand the magnitude of the game and every game for us is important now because we haven’t secured our place in the Top 8, which is our biggest goal at the moment. We need to push – we have four games left at the moment in the league, but we will take it one game at a time.”
