Amakhosi have been hit with a sanction by the world football governing body and are unable to register new players until July 2021, so it was interesting hearing the coach answer questions on whether this gives him some leeway.
“It’s a difficult question to answer. The future of football is now, in as much as I think a year in advance, but the future is now,” Hunt told journalists.
“And right now we’ve got a game on Sunday, so we have to get that right. We can think about the future, but what is important is now. I need to see what is available and then we go from there. There’s no rebuilding right now – we’ve got to do it with the squad we’ve got. Rebuilding? No, not right now.”
Amakhosi host rivals Orlando Pirates in the second leg of their MTN8 semifinal cup tie, one in which they trail 3-0 from last week’s encounter.
