Gavin Hunt has offered a very brief response to Kaizer Chiefs’ 4-0 lashing at the hands of Wydad Casablanca on Sunday.
Amakhosi finally played the rescheduled CAF Champions League group stages match against the Moroccan outfit in Burkina Faso at the weekend, but looked out of sorts as they conceded two goals in either half.
Captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele was sent off in the dying minutes of the match after receiving a second yellow card, his supposed handball resulting in a dubious penalty.
“Obviously the scoreline doesn’t look good, but I thought we had a good couple of opportunities ourselves – we got caught on two back post balls in the first two goals,” Hunt told a handful on journalists in Ouagadougou.
“But all in all we had a good couple of opportunities in a difficult pitch and a difficult situation. They got two right at the end, but I though the second half we got stronger. Some good opportunities, we tried to play, but it wasn’t to be.”
The defeat stretched Chiefs’ winless run to eight games and they now prepare to host Petro de Luanda from Angola on Friday.
After two matches in Group B, the Glamour Boys have played a goalless draw against Horoya AC and then thrashed by Wydad.
