Reports: How Many Millions Chiefs Paid For Kambole…
Kaizer Chiefs fans will be happy to see their club delving into the transfer market for Lazarous Kambole, but how many millions did they hand over to ZESCO United for his services?
Kambole joins Chiefs on a three-year deal with a big reputation after his goalscoring exploits domestically and in the continent for the Zambian giants, and it will be his record in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup that will particularly excite the Amakhosi.
He didn’t come particularly cheap though, according to reports in Zambia, with zambianfootball.news stating that the sale is one of the biggest in ZESCO’s history, and at around $200,000 (around R3m) is equalled only by the sale of Idris Mbombo to Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia in 2017.
The Zambian international will know the pressure that comes with a big price tag when joining a club of Chiefs’ stature, and will be keen to make an early impression on Ernst Middendorp and his technical team when the club returns for pre-season on June 26.
Kambole will also be joining his new club high on confidence after winning the COSAFA Cup with Chipolopolo earlier this month, and will be eager to take that winning feeling with him out to Soweto.
