After his unceremonious exit from Kaizer Chiefs in April, Hendrick Ekstein was spotted back at the club this week…
The 28-year-old midfielder is one of the many players who have either left or are leaving the Amakhosi prior to the start of the 2019/20 season, and rumours have been swirling with regards to where he will be playing his football in the upcoming campaign.
‘Pule’, as he is affectionately known, was seen back at Naturena on Tuesday – the day before Chiefs were due back for pre-season – although at this point in time the reason for his presence there remains unknown.
Ekstein has been linked with the likes of Orlando Pirates, Cape Town City as well as a move abroad since he departed the Glamour Boys earlier in the year, and he will no doubt be eager to finalise his future as the new season approaches.
The Siya crew is currently looking into why the midfield man was at Chiefs this week, as well as his next destination, amid rumours on social media that he could even perform a U-turn and head back to Chiefs. While Siya sources have suggested that a return is highly unlikely, stranger things have happened.
