Gavin Hunt will be a free agent in a few weeks and rumours about his next move are already making the rounds.
The 56-year-old head coach will be in charge of Bidvest Wits for the last time on September 05, when the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season draws to a close and he goes in search of the next step in his professional career.
However, it seems that Hunt will not be out of a job for too long, with Siya sources indicating that the Cape Town-born mentor’s name is being bandied about with rumours of a move to Kaizer Chiefs.
Chiefs had previously made enquiries into Hunt’s availability at the end of last season, though the situation was different at the time as he still had a long-term contract set in place with the Clever Boys.
Now, with the serial title-winner set to be a free agent soon, rumours about a move to Chiefs are heating up.
Ernst Middendorp’s future with Amakhosi has been up in the air for quite some time now and it is understood that he could be heading out the exit door at Naturena, even if he goes on to win the Absa Premiership.
Now it remains to be seen what decision will be made on the German mentor and whether Chiefs will officially approach Hunt to bring him on board for the new season.
