Kaizer Chiefs utility player Reeve Frosler has decided which direction to take following lengthy discussions with the club over his future, the Siya crew has been led to believe.
Soccer Laduma has been informed the 24-year-old is staying put!
Indications are that Frosler has put pen to paper on a new contract that all but guarantees that he will remain at Naturena beyond the current season – Frosler had been on the radar of some clubs in Europe and the Major League Soccer in the USA, suggesting that Chiefs may risk losing him on a free.
Despite interest abroad, football manager Bobby Motaung, has secured the services of Frosler for a further three years, beating local competition, in negotiations that have been going on for some months.
The player joined Amakhosi in January 2019 from the now defunct Bidvest Wits and quickly established himself as a regular under then coach Ernst Middendorp and his successor Gavin Hunt, though he has not seen that much game-time with Stuart Baxter now in charge.
Soccer Laduma has established that the Glamour Boys, however, see him as an integral part of the club’s set-up and had been locked in serious talks since last year over a new deal beyond June 30, when his existing contract would have expired.
According to insiders, local rivals had been monitoring the situation, but the information reaching the Siya crew is that Chiefs have now made progress and agreed new terms with the versatile Bafana Bafana star.
No confirmation has come from Naturena yet, but indications are that Frosler will now stay on until at least June 2025.
An announcement, sources at the club have said, is now imminent.
