In the prime of his professional career, Thembinkosi Biyela played for Kaizer Chiefs and to this day is still remembered for his time with the Soweto giants where he played alongside former Bafana Bafana striker Mark Williams and the late Marc Batchelor, among other stars.

Biyela was a burly striker who packed a powerful shot and was feared by the defenders. Having made a name for himself in Mzansi’s top-flight with the now defunct Ria Stars and Moroka Swallows, Biyela was signed by Amakhosi as the club enjoyed success of winning trophies in those days in the 1990s.
In looking back, Biyela has jotted down a list of 18 players he says would be in his Dream Team if he was to turn back the clock.
The list is dominated by a number of former Chiefs stars he played alongside, including renowned Mzansi football legends like Doctor ‘16V’ Khumalo, Neil ‘Mokoko’ Tovey and the late John ‘Shoes’ Lesiba Moshoeu.
The late Thabang ‘Chillies’ Lebese, who used to be his roomate in camp in those days, is also on the list as well as a host of other top players to have emerged from Mzansi.
