Life After Chiefs: Striker Spotted In Europe…
Kaizer Chiefs’ loss could be another team’s gain as Ryan Moon turned out for another club over the weekend as he eyes the next step in his young career.
The 22-year-old striker recently spent time training with Hibernian in Scotland as he contemplates his options after leaving the Amakhosi, and his agent recently explained to the Siya crew that he was on his way back to Europe as the new season draws closer.
Újpest FC in Hungary, who have won the league title 20 times and have previously played in the UEFA Champions League, confirmed on their official website that the South African international turned out for them against MTK Budapest last week.
The club commented on Moon’s inclusion, saying, “Of course, if a decision is made that the team is planning for a longer term, we will announce it here on our official site.”
It remains to be seen at this point in time whether the striker will land himself a deal in Europe, however the fact that he is out of contract means that he is not bound by the transfer windows that begin to shut in the coming weeks.
Moon, despite his young age, has more than 50 senior appearances to his name and would no doubt jump at that chance to take his career outside South Africa’s borders if given the chance.
