Former Kaizer Chiefs defender, Tlou Molekwane, has predicted that Amakhosi will go all the way to win the Absa Premiership title.
The 2019/20 season is set to resume with Ernst Middendorp and his team aiming to open the gap at the top of the log to more than just four points between them and second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns when they take on Bidvest Wits next Wednesday, although the results from the match between the Brazilians and Orlando Pirates on Tuesday might have a huge effect on how the log table will look by the end of next week.
“It’s a tight one at the moment and the four-point difference between the top two teams is nothing. You win two games and you have more than that (four points). But Chiefs have been consistent throughout the season and I don’t think they will allow any team to come and just overtake them like that now that the league is towards the end. They have been in that position for too long now for them to throw it like that. I am sure that the team has prepared very well, especially mentally because this thing of not having played for so long might have affected the players. I hope that mentally they are okay, because physically I’m sure they are good,” said Molekwane.
“For them to win this title they must make sure that they don’t lose any match. The worst result they can get now is a draw, which would still feel more like a loss. I see Chiefs winning the league. I see them taking the trophy. There is hunger in that team and they want to bring back those glory days to Amakhosi. The fans are also supporting the team and they can see that they are close. They can see that the team can do it. Chiefs will take this one. It’s up to the players,” the former right-back told the Siya crew.
