Ernst Middendorp has revealed that there could be a few days wait before knowing the extent of injury to two of their key players.
Kearyn Baccus and Bernard Parker had to be stretchered off in their Telkom Knockout Cup clash against Cape Town City at the Cape Town Stadium yesterday, with Middendorp revealing that the duo have picked up a similar injury.
“(Kearyn) Baccus is an issue of an irritation of the inside of the knee ligaments. Secondly, it is definitely an irritation on his ankle. We must wait, he can’t really move, it is definitely something that we have to be patient about in the next two-three days to find out,” Middendorp told the media after the game.
“Bernard Parker, you have seen it was a crash going in to each other, but it is definitely something similar and very painful in the moment and impossible to move, probably on Monday and Tuesday we will know a little bit more,” the coach added.
Chiefs will now gear up for their Absa Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns next weekend, October 27 and it remains to be seen how long it will be before the duo return to action.
