Carling Black Label 2019

10 Amakhosi Futures That Could Rely On Middendorp?

Kaizer Chiefs are yet to confirm whether Ernst Middendorp will be in charge next season or not, and while his absence today has raised eyebrows with fans, players will also be interested to know if he's going to stay.

Check out players who could benefit or be hurt - and why - if Middendorp stays at Naturena

The German coach was not there for the launch of the Carling Black Label Cup this afternoon as the game between the Amakhosi and Orlando Pirates was launched for 2019, with Shaun Bartlett taking responsibility alongside Willard Katsande in his absence.

With the club only set to return for pre-season on June 26, there is still around a month before Middendorp has to resume his job officially, however indications are that - at this point in time - he will be in charge when the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season gets underway later in the year.

The likes of Daniel Cardoso, Bernard Parker, Khama Billiat, Kgotso Moleko and George Maluleka - all of whom have played regularly under Middendorp - may benefit from him staying on board as they look to continue playing regularly, while others such as Lorenzo Gordinho, Siphelele Ntshangase, Siyabonga Ngezana, Erick Mathoho and Emmanuel Letlotlo may have to prepare for a tough season ahead given their lack of playing time since his arrival.

Chiefs have stated that they will be making numerous changes in all aspects of the club for the new campaign, however the fact that they spoke of 'bolstering' their technical team rather than changing it may allude to the fact that Middendorp's position is not under threat.

Which players do you think will be most important for Chiefs in 2019/20?
