Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Ernst Middendorp, has opened up about the club’s exit from the Nedbank Cup.
Amakhosi were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Highlands Park, following their 5-4 penalty shootout loss at the Makhulong Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
“It was one of those games where we did everything to win but it was not to be. Highlands Park brought their A-game to us and we couldn’t unlock them to create enough chances to score,” said Middendorp, as quoted on Chiefs’ official website.
In their next fixture, Chiefs will take on archrivals Orlando Pirates in the much-anticipated Soweto Derby at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Middendorp and the team will hope to return to winning ways, following back-to-back losses against Maritzburg United and the Lions of the North, in the league and cup respectively.
