Kaizer Chiefs head coach Ernst Middendorp refused to criticise the referees following his side's Telkom Knockout triumph on Saturday.
Chiefs advanced to the quarter-finals of the Telkom Knockout after defeating the Citizens 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out in the Mother City.
There were number of instances that divided opinion, while Benni MCarthy branded the referees 'diabolical'.
Middendorp feels coaches should support the referees, rather than criticise like a certain honourable coach in South Africa.
"I can't complain." Middendorp told SuperSport after the game.
"I think the referees did their best and so far, as I always repeat, they make it happen, I don't want to go into this songs of another honourable coach inside the country, who's always complaining, saying, "this should be, this should not be like this".
"I think leave the referees alone, give them the support. I think that's our responsibility as a coaches too," he added.
