Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Ernst Middendorp revealed that he is not concerned about the results of other teams in the Absa Premiership.
Amakhosi increased their lead at the top of the league standings on Saturday, after coming back from 2-0 down to secure maximum points against Polokwane City on the weekend.
Head Coach Ernst Middendorp’s side are now six points clear of second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns, who played to a 1-1 draw against Highlands Park on the weekend.
Despite the Soweto giants being in a relatively comfortable position on the log after every other team in the top four dropped points this past weekend, Middendorp admitted that he is not too concerned about the rest of the table.
“I repeat, I do not look at the table or who does win or lose at this stage. My job and focus is to prepare the team and work hard to win matches, that is what I get paid for by Chiefs. We will go back to the training ground to recoup and prepare the team for the next match which is against Celtic. I am happy with the win, but the work continues,” Middendorp said, as quoted on Chiefs’ official website.
Amakhosi’s next fixture will be on Wednesday evening when they lock horns with Bloemfontein Celtic at the Tuks Stadium.
