As things stand he’ll be out of contract at the end of the current season, and Daniel Cardoso’s representatives have commented on the future of the Kaizer Chiefs defender.

Chiefs do have an option on the central defender that they can exercise in order to keep him at the club beyond the 2019/20 season, but as things stand there has been no confirmation that they will be doing so.
Meanwhile, as reported in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, the 31-year-old has now attracted interest from America’s Major Soccer League, the Turkish Süper Lig as well as teams in the United Arab Emirates, with a club in Dubai said to be keeping tabs on his situation.
The player, it appears, wants to stay at Naturena as his first choice though, with his representatives adding that they’d like a longer contract rather than just the one-year option that is currently in place.
The crew spoke with JS Sports, who explained that they’re expecting talks to open up soon, with the player eager to focus on helping the club win the league rather than his future.
The agency said in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, “Yeah, as things stand, Danny’s contract with Chiefs will come to an end once this season finishes, but the club does have an option that they can exercise that will see him stay on for another year. Considering Danny’s future though, we’re also looking to renew the contract further than that extra year option as he’s at a point in his career where he needs security.
“He’s very happy at Chiefs at the moment, and very happy to be playing so regularly under coach Ernst, but at 31, he does need to start looking at his future and what lies ahead for him. Chiefs haven’t spoken to us yet about the option or extending his contract, though we want to try and move things forward as soon as possible so that he can focus on his football and not his future.”

Cardoso has missed just four Absa Premiership games in the last three seasons for the Glamour Boys, staking his claim for a place under three different coaches – Steve Komphela, Giovanni Solinas and now Middendorp.
