Possible Chiefs Switch To Open Door For Maluleka To Downs?

With Kaizer Chiefs keeping close tabs on Cole Alexander’s situation with Bidvest Wits, any move from Braamfontein could potentially open up a door for the next step in George Maluleka’s career.
Maluleka has played just 23 games in all competitions this season having battled with some injury niggles, and it is no secret that he has been a long-term target for Pitso Mosimane as he eyes him as a potential signing for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Masandawana are eager to bolster their already impressive side as they go into the 2019/20 campaign on the back of yet another Absa Premiership title win, and it is believed that Maluleka is seen as a player that could come into Chloorkop to help them add to their ever-growing trophy cabinet.
While ‘Mido’ has become part of the furniture at Chiefs in recent years since his move from SuperSport United back in 2014, he does now have just one year left on his current deal, and the club may look to cash in on him rather than lose him for free in a years’ time if he signs elsewhere.
If Chiefs do manage to get a deal done for Alexander – which appears unlikely at this point – that sees the midfield man make the switch to Soweto, then it could well mean that they are more likely to listen to any offers from Tshwane with regards to their own 30-year-old midfield maestro.
The crew will monitor the situation of both players in the build up to the South African transfer window, though suggestions are that Wits are unwilling to consider offers for Alexander at this point in time.
