Kaizer Chiefs have made an annoucement about three of their squad members concluding contract talks ahead of tomorrow's June 30 deadline.
In a series of tweets, the club confirmed one-year deals for goalkeeper Brylon Petersen, utility player Philani Zulu and out-of-favour midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase.
Suprisingly, the club said nothing about George Maluleka, who it announced back in March that he'd signed a pre-contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, having rejected an offer to stay on at Naturena for two more years with an option to have that deal extended.
This means Maluleka may very well not be part of the Chiefs team that concludes the 2019/20 season when it resumes in the coming weeks, although FIFA has encouraged clubs to try finish the campaign with the same players that started it.
Premier Soccer League chairman Irvin Khoza has recommended clubs heed the football governing body's call, but Chiefs only announced three contract renewals, leaving questions marks over the 'Mido' saga.
His contract with Sundowns kicks in on July 1, a day after his Amakhosi one runs out.
