As the DSTV Premiership heads into the second half, there will be quite a few Kaizer Chiefs players looking to impress to secure themselves new deals beyond the current campaign.
Amakhosi will be eligible to sign new players next season once their transfer ban is over and coach Gavin Hunt will bring in new players, while the current group of players will be hoping to form part of the team for the 2021/22 campaign. With 15 domestic matches left, and six CAF Champions League group matches to be played, players do not have a lot of time on their hands.
Chiefs are yet to confirm the futures of seven players in the team, with some of them not playing regularly at the moment.
The likes of Siphelele Ntshangase, Willard Katsande, Kgotso Moleko have not been playing regularly, while Bruce Bvuma and Brylon Petersen have not featured at all.
Khama Billiat is currently out nursing an injury. Billiat has been linked with clubs abroad.
Philani Zulu has been a regular in the team and could get rewarded for his good performances with a new deal. Long-serving Bernard Parker is also in the final few months of his contract, so too Ramahlwe Mphahlele, though his deal has an option to extend.
Amakhosi are likely to open talks with players towards the end of the season, as they look to make a fresh start in the next campaign.
