Kaizer Chiefs have on Tuesday afternoon announced the arrival of a new player at Naturena on a long-term contract.
The Glamour Boys confirmed the Soccer Laduma story on Austin Dube by revealing the now former Richards Bay central defender has signed a three-year contract with an option to renew it for a further two seasons.
In a post on Facebook, Chiefs welcomed the player who was part of the triumphant Bafana Bafana side in the COSAFA Cup at the weekend.
“We would like to confirm the signing of Thabani Austin Dube. The central defender joins Amakhosi from Richards Bay United on a 3-year contract with a further 2-year option.
The 28-year old Dube recently lifted the Cosafa Cup with Bafana Bafana.
Welcome to Kaizer Chiefs!” read the post.
Dube becomes the club’s sixth signing since the FIFA ban was lifted and follows announcements made to confirmed the arrival of Brandon Petersen, Sifiso Hlanti, Sibusiso Mabiliso, Phathutshedzo Nange, Njabulo Ngcobo and Kgaogelo Sekgota two weeks ago.
Chiefs still has to publicly announce their decision on the future of 10 players (see gallery below), which had been delayed due to the CAF Champions League final against Al Ahly at the weekend.
Now that it's out of the way, expect movement.
