Kaizer Chiefs have been handed a big blow in the pursuit of AmaZulu star, Siyethemba Sithebe.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, Chiefs made a second offer to AmaZulu for the services of the attacker.
Sources have indicated that a meeting was held over the weekend and that discussions progressed to an advanced stage last night.
But in a twist of events, embittered AmaZulu rejected a new offer for the attacker, which included cash plus players.
Speaking exclusively to the Siya crew, Musawakhe Sithebe, the player's agent, confirmed that the parties could not agree and the deal came to naught.
“They didn't (find common ground) on the second deal. Kaizer Chiefs offered them money and players but AmaZulu rejected it. Then Chiefs felt that it was not useful to continue with talks,” Sithebe told the Siya crew.
“The meeting happened last night, I was supposed to get a report around 11 PM, it was promising because I had a chat with Bobby Motaung, who told me that they made an improved offer.
“He will remain at AmaZulu and I hope they won't side line him because he very professional,” added the player's agent.
With hours to go before the transfer window closes at midnight, it remains to be seen if the two parties can agree on the transfer of the player.
