In case you missed it, the videos that went viral on social media recently and showing Bobby Motaung partying up a storm are what got the Kaizer Chiefs football manager suspended.
The club confirmed in a statement late on Tuesday that son of boss Kaizer Motaung was under investigation for allegedly breaking lockdown regulations.
As per instructions from President Cyril Ramaphosa, all social gatherings and visits are prohibited during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The videos that circulated on social media with Motaung in it suggests he broke the law and landed in hot water at club as a result.
He is seen cosying up with a group of friends, dancing and having what appears to be alcoholic drinks – and there is only one person with a visible mask around his chin.
“As part of our policies and continuous process of monitoring the public conduct of our members, players, and staff, Kaizer Chiefs has decided to summarily suspend football manager Bobby Motaung,” read part of a statement on the Amakhosi website on Tuesday afternoon following social media calls for the club to make a public comment.
“Even though he has tested negative on three occasions for Covid-19 during the club’s mandatory tests, he is ordered to remain home and self-quarantine during this time.”
This means he will not now definitely not be joining the team at their biologically safe environment next week when Chiefs gear up for a return to action against Bidvest Wits on August 12 when the log leaders resume their campaign.
