Mosele’s Price Tag Revealed, Chiefs Watch…

A price valuation has been slapped on the country’s best young player!

However, Baroka FC feel the next big step for Goodman Mosele, a player they signed when he was only 17-years-old and still in school, is a move to Europe as interest from Scotland and Denmark gains momentum.

Kaizer Chiefs, however, want him to make a detour at Naturena before he can sign a deal abroad as they angle for Mosele to join their legion of young talent currently being led by head coach Gavin Hunt.

The Siya crew reported in issue 1195 of Soccer Laduma that Amakhosi had made an inquiry into Mosele’s availability while waiting to hear back from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on the outcome of their appeal on the FIFA ban.

With the appeal was dismissed, Amakhosi can now only realistically recruit Mosele next season.

They can sign players and offer them employment contracts, but the sanction by the world football governing body prevents them from signing PSL contracts with the players and registering them with the League for two transfer windows.

According to Siya sources, Baroka have rejected Chiefs’ initial approach, but indications are that there is talk of Amakhosi preparing a lucrative offer of around R5-million to sway the Limpopo-based club into opening the door for Mosele’s departure.

One insider described the Amakhosi pursuit of the player as “desperate” because the club considers him a talent they cannot afford to miss out on. Baroka, though, seem determined to turn down any advances from their top-flight PSL rivals.

Mosele has caught the eye of clubs in Scotland and Denmark, and sources told the crew that Maccabi Haifa in Israel put in a formal bid for the player last year, which was not accepted at the time. Siya sources have suggested to the crew that Baroka were not ready to cut ties just yet and wanted to build the team around Mosele for the 2019/20 campaign.

He remains a vital player for Bakgaga, but it’s thought that the club feels they are in a better position to negotiate his release now with his profile having grown and the Olympics on the horizon – in 2021.

Should he make the cut to join coach David Notoane’s final squad in Tokyo, then that puts him on the radar of top scouts in Europe and sets him up for a big move – one that could bring a sizeable financial windfall for Baroka!
