A former Kaizer Chiefs player has explained why he feels Arthur Zwane should remain part of the first team next season, with a new coach set to take charge at Naturena in the coming days.
Zwane worked as one of axed coach Gavin Hunt's assistant and was then given the responsibility of leading the Soweto giants in the final two matches of the season against Golden Arrows and TS Galaxy.
Under pressure to finish the campaign on a high, Zwane not only delivered six points, but ensured Amakhosi's name will be in the MTN8 hat next season.
Zwane gone from being a player at Chiefs, to working in the development, producing players via the Diski Challenge side and working as an assistant in the first team. He has been there and Isaac Mabotsa, a former Amakhosi right back, feels it makes sense to have him there as part of the technical team going forward, as he will make a valuable contribution.
"Arthur deserves to be part of the first team. If you check his record since he started working with the Chiefs reserve team (Diski Challenge team), he has produced about five players or more. And you could see in the final two games he was in charge of how the players respond to him. My opinion is that he deserves to be there (in the first team next season) because he is really doing a good job," Mabotsa tells the Siya crew.
