New Amakhosi Exit Confirmed
It’s been a very busy few weeks at Kaizer Chiefs, and another Amakhosi exit has now been confirmed.
Brylon Petersen, a success story from the Varsity Football programme, will be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of the month.
Having impressed so much during his time playing for Wits University, Chiefs decided to snap him up and he spent the last couple of years as part of their first team squad - now though, he will be moving on.
The 23-year-old, who is one of the few professional footballers still studying at a higher level, is in the process of completing his degree, and his agent - Modise Sefume - has told the Siya crew that his exams are taking precedent at this stage.
Sefume told the crew, “Yes it’s true that Brylon has parted ways with Kaizer Chiefs. The club decided against renewing his contract.
“It’s no secret that Brylon is a Mechanical Engineering student at Wits as well as being a professional football player. He is now in the last six months of his degree and will focus his immediate attention on his exams - he is currently in the throes of his June exam period.
“He will, however, consider his options in days to come, but needless to say he leaves Chiefs with invaluable experience and thoroughly enjoyed his time there.”
The shot-stopper broke into the senior matchday squad on a handful of occasions while also playing a pivotal role for Chiefs’ reserve side.
