Indications are that Kaizer Chiefs have reached a financial settlement with a former coach over the termination of his contract, which had more than a year remaining on it.
After Amakhosi announced the departure of Stuart Baxter last month, one of the critical things that had to be figured out between the club and the coach was how much money the Englishman was going to walk away with.
The terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but it is said that Baxter agreed to a high-paying arrangement.
As reported in the 1271st edition of Soccer Laduma, Siya sources revealed that Baxter is expected to be paid approximately R3 million as he penned a four-month settlement fee.
Baxter’s second stint at Chiefs only lasted 10 months, and 23 DStv Premiership matches. He had signed a deal till 2023 with an option to extend by a further two years.
The 68-year-old Briton was shown the exit door for various reasons, including poor results and his remarks in the media.
And word reaching the Siya crew is that Baxter, who clinched two league titles with Chiefs in his first stint at the helm, is on the lookout for a coaching gig in South Africa.
