Top football agent Mike Makaab has again commented on the future of one of his players awaiting a decision from Kaizer Chiefs.
Bernard Parker is just weeks away from his Amakhosi contract ending on June 30, and with the club expected to overhaul the squad, it’s not yet clear if the attacker has a role.
He joined the Glamour Boys a decade ago and was part of the successful team that won two league titles under Stuart Baxter between 2012 and 2015.
Chiefs haven’t won a trophy since the Englishman left and now that he is set to make a dramatic comeback, Parker’s future could very well be decided by Baxter.
“I can tell you exactly what the situation is. Bernard wants to stay at the club,” Makaab, of Prosport International, told the Siya crew.
“The important thing now it to map out his future role at the club, and that will very much depend on how Chiefs see Bernard going forward. Ideally, Bernard would love to get into the coaching side of the business. He is very passionate about it, and he’s a leader. That makes things a little more realistic for him. He loves the club, absolutely. Unless circumstance change, he really wants to stay at the club. It’s now about sitting with management and looking at how they see Bernard’s role going forward.”
