Youngster Surfaces After Chiefs Exit, Another Signs
After leaving Kaizer Chiefs in June, a former Amakhosi youngster has surfaced at a new club as he looks to secure a contract elsewhere, while another has signed.
As reported in the most recent issue of Soccer Laduma, both Reamohetse Lekoatsa (21) and ex-Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns man, Mpho Khumalo (23), were given a chance to prove their worth at Royal Eagles in the GladAfrica Championship, with the players’ representative confirming their presence.
Gerald Baloyi, of Vodia Players Management and Marketing, told the crew, “Yes, former Kaizer Chiefs player, Reamohetse Lekoatsa, and ex-Mamelodi Sundowns youngster, Mpho Khumalo, have started their assessments at Royal Eagles this week.”
Baloyi has since confirmed that Khumalo has penned a deal with Eagles as he looks to get his career back on track following his exit from Mthatha Bucks, while ‘Shimi’ is still waiting to find out his future.
Khumalo was named on the bench for Eagles as they drew 2-2 with JDR Stars, and Lekoatsa will no doubt be eager to finalise his future as soon as possible so that he can get back on the field at senior level after doing his time in the Multichoice Diski Challenge.
