Released Chiefs Star ‘May Struggle To Come Back’

Following the release of Siphelele Ntshangase from Kaizer Chiefs, club legend Nhlanhla Kubheka has raised concerns about the midfielder’s minimal progress in recent seasons.

Since he was signed in January 2018, Ntshangase struggled for game-time at Chiefs, which led to him eventually being released last Friday, despite having signed a one-year contract extension at the start of 2020/21 season.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Kubheka said he believes that the 27-year-old midfielder got swallowed by the environment at Amakhosi and that he needs help to revive his career which saw him at one stage selected for Bafana Bafana while playing in the National First Division.

“To give you an example, Siphelele Ntshangase is one of the exceptional footballers I know, but unfortunately, he was not playing, and I strongly believe that until he becomes aware of himself and what is happening around him, he may struggle to come back. He needs someone who is going to sponsor him with the concept of self-realization and emotion. He needs to be disconnected from negative emotion and be connected to positive emotion,” said Kubheka.
