After a shaky start from Chiefs, the Limpopo-based side had the best attempt of the match so far. the ball was played over the top of the Amakhosi defence down the right-hand side with Vusimuzi Mngomezulu taking it first time on the volley from an acute angle and bringing a good save out of Daniel Akpeyi with a fierce drive.

Shortly afterwards, the visitors took the lead. Kearyn Baccus lost possession and the ball was played over the top to right wing-back Lesiba Nku, who lobbed the ball over Akpeyi after the keeper had come off his line to try and narrow the angle.

Clinton Larsen's side had a glorious opportunity to double their lead soon after when Jabulani Maluleke released Phiri clear through on goal, but the latter put the ball inches wide while trying to place it in the bottom left-hand corner.

Chiefs upped their intensity after the mid-half cooling break and began spending more time in the final third. In the 32nd minute, Reeve Frosler whipped in a delightful cross from the right-hand side to the back post for Nurkovic, whose header was a good one back across goal and bought a fine save out of Rise and Shine shot-stopper Cyril Chibwe.

Chiefs rang the changes at half-time with Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Bernard Parker and Willard Katsande coming on for Frosler, Yagan Sasman and Kearyn Baccus respectively.

Rise and Shine doubled their lead on the hour mark after they won a free-kick on the edge of the box and Maluleke's deflected set-piece looped over Akpeyi and in to the back of the net.

The Glamour Boys pulled one back and it was that man Katsande off the bench in the 71st minute. Parker's corner was flicked on by Nurkovic and Katsande headed home at the back post from close range.

Parker was also having a massive impact off the bench and created the second as he had the first. His corner was once again flicked on by Nurkovic and this time Anthony Akumu tapped home at the back post.

In a ridiculous eight minutes, Chiefs had their third. Daniel Cardoso intercepted the ball and laid it off to the Nurkovic, who smashed a long-range dipping strike past Chibwe and in to the back of the net.

Sifama Keletso came off the bench to earn his debut for the Amakhosi and won a penalty when he was bought down by Themba Chauke in the 90th minute. Cardoso stepped up but his spot-kick thundered back off the crossbar but three second-half goals were enough to secure the win.
