Kaizer Chiefs’ squad looks very different now to how it did a few months ago, but what has happened to the 16 players who have left Naturena of late?
The Glamour Boys promised wholesale changes after their nightmare 2018/19 campaign, with 13 different players getting the chop as they we sold, had their contract terminated or didn’t have them renewed, while the club brought in just five new faces to replace them.
Foreigners, academy graduates and purchased players were all on the list of exits when Chiefs confirmed all 16 departures this season including three loans, with Yusuf Bunting and Letlhogonolo Mirwa the latest names on the list.
Yusuf Bunting, Mario Booysen, Ryan Moon, Brylon Petersen, Khotso Malope, Teenage Hadebe, Gustavo Páez, Hendrick Ekstein, Bhongolethu Jayiya, Virgil Vries, Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana, Emmanuel Letlotlo and Letlhogonolo Mirwa
Given Thibedi, Itumeleng Shopane and Ayanda Rorwana
Several of the released players remain clubless having struggled to find a club after leaving the Amakhosi, while a handful have found new homes in South Africa and some have ended up in the likes of Azerbaijan, Venezuela and Turkey.
Do you think Chiefs will regret losing any of the players above?
