With Kaizer Chiefs looking to be close to securing the signature of midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe, Soccer Laduma looks back at some of the club's January transfer window signings over the last 10 years.
Amakhosi have not always gone out into the market to splash the cash on many players in January, often just adding a few pieces to try to complete the puzzle.
Some of the signings which got Amakhosi supporters excited during the January transfer window are Siphelele Ntshangase, Kabelo Mahlasela and William Twala.
One of their biggest signings during the January window was from rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, when they brought in Colombian striker Leonardo Castro. George Maluleka was a big signing from SuperSport United in January 2014, as well as Katlego Mphela from Sundowns the same year.
Amakhosi's January signings, however, have not always been able to deliver for the club, as has been seen with the likes of Ntshangase, Mahlasela, Gustavo Paez and David Zulu.
Some of the successful signings during this time of the year have been Maluleka, Reyaad Pieterse and Daniel Akpeyi, who is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon with Nigeria.
