Kaizer Chiefs claimed the second edition of the Shell Helix Ultra Cup this afternoon against Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium, with a few players facing domestic opponents for the first time this season.
While Oupa Manyisa has featured for Sundowns in the CAF Champions League, the 31-year-old made no domestic appearances for the Brazilians yet this season, although was given a run out against their local rivals this afternoon.
Aubrey Ngoma was another new face in Sundowns’ line-up this afternoon. The winger has made zero competitive appearances for the Brazilians so far this season.
Tokelo Rantie pulled on the Sundowns jersey for the first time this afternoon, also coming in to the encounter with zero minutes of competitive game-time.
Harold Majadibodu was also given his first shot at some game-time this afternoon, after returning from loan at the end of last season.
Chiefs on the other hand, had just one new face in their line-up, with Philani Zulu making his way back in to the Amakhosi setup since last season.
