With Kaizer Chiefs hit with a two-window transfer ban by FIFA last week, the Glamour Boys have some big decisions to make regarding a few players.
The restriction in bringing in new faces at Naturena should the club fail to have the ban overturned at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, could force Amakhosi to look to keep what they already have – and that could mean some unexcepted contract extensions.

As many as seven players will come to the end of their current agreements with Chiefs at the end of the season, but the ban throws them a lifeline.
Brylon Petersen rejoined Chiefs earlier in the season to offer cover in the goalkeeping department and if the club isn’t allowed to bring in another keeper to compete with Itumeleng Khune, Daniel Akpeyi and Bruce Bvuma, he may stick around.
Others who could benefit are Philani Zulu, Siphelele Ntshangase, Joseph Molangoane and Leonardo Castro, who Chiefs would not be able to replace if they let go at the end of the campaign when their contracts end.
The biggest poser could be around the future of midfielder George Maluleka, who, despite being a key figure at the club, has not put pen to paper on a new contract as well and could be a free agent by June 30.
With the ban, however, Chiefs would be under pressure to keep ‘Mido’ at Naturena, which means the player could hold all the cards regarding his future.
Things are a little complex with Kabelo Mahlasela, who is on loan at Polokwane City and will reach the end of his Amakhosi contract in June. Will the club be in a position to offer him a new contract at the end of his spell with another team without being in violation of the FIFA ban?
It will all become clearer in the coming months!
Should Chiefs renew all these contracts?
