Last week, Manchester City were beaten by Real Madrid to fall short in the UEFA Champions League yet again, but this week it seems they've stolen the headlines for a different reason. Reports coming out of Manchester is that the Citizens have "agreed" personal terms with one of the brightest young talents in the Bundesliga, Erling Haaland.
The release clause in the 21-year-old's contract with Borussia Dortmund will kick in during the upcoming transfer window, with City reportedly ready to take action. Should this deal be completed, Haaland would play for the same team his father did between 2000 and 2003, and it certainly looks as though Pep Guardiola has beaten the likes of Real Madrid, Paris-Saint Germain, and Bayern Munich to acquire the Norwegian's services.

In other news, Schalke 04 are set to return to the top flight of German football after beating St Pauli 3-2 in a must-win fixture. Schalke were shockingly relegated last season after a serious string of bad results.
Turning to European competitions, Scottish giants Rangers were too strong for RB Leipzig last Thursday, beating them 3-2 on aggregate to proceed to the UEFA Europa League final.
With the other semi-final being between West Ham United and Eintracht Frankfurt, the Germans were too strong for David Moyes' men, seeing out the second leg 1-0 (3-1 on aggregate) to set up a final with Rangers.
