Cosmos' Struggles Continue, Uthongathi Humble Callies

Saturday 23 October
Jomo Cosmos 0-1 JDR Stars

Jomo Cosmos' winless woes in the GladAfrica Championship entered a ninth match week on Saturday this after going down 1-0 to JDR Stars at the Tsakane Stadium.

Nkosana More’s late strike in the first half led the Hammer Boyz to a third win in a row and to the top of the league table too.

Uthongathi FC 3-1 Pretoria Callies

Another win for Uthongathi FC this time a 3-1 triumph over Pretoria Callies leaped the outfit two places from fifth to third spot.

This victory follows last Sunday’s success over Polokwane City, as a double late on from Nkosikhona Dube complemented Thato Mothlamme’s earlier finish.

A penalty in the middle of the second half from Pule Motsetse handed Callies, who came off a 6-1 annihilation of Cape Town Spurs a consolation.

TS Sporting 0-2 Polokwane City

Polokwane City snapped a run of successive losses with a 2-0 victory over TS Sporting to head back into the title reckoning.

Rise and Shine started the weekend placed in seventh spot and have now moved up to fifth spot on the back of this win, as Sporting dropped one spot from 11th to 13th place.

Venda Football Academy 1-1 Cape Town All Stars

Venda Football Academy bagged another 1-1 draw this time against Cape Town All Stars down at the Thohoyandou Stadium.

All Stars, who had also drawn their previous match against Richards Bay FC, were first to hit the front before Gama pulled the host level following the second exchanges.

Sunday 24 October
University of Pretoria 0-0 Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC

University of Pretoria couldn’t return to the top of the table on Sunday afternoon following a goalless draw at home to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

As such, AmaTuks will finish the weekend in second spot, two points behind the leaders and city neighbours JDR Stars.

Black Leopards 0-1 Free State Stars

Black Leopards were given another loss in as many weeks to remain in second-bottom spot as Free State Stars claimed a 1-0 win at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The first half finished goalless and needed a penalty late in the second stanza from Enocent Mkhabela to get Ea Lla Koto the ultimate winner.

Cape Town Spurs 0-0 Platinum City Rovers

Cape Town Spurs began life without Dylan Deane with a goalless draw at home against Platinum City Rovers.

Spurs were thumped 6-1 by Pretoria Callies last Sunday and decided to part ways with Deane, as Rovers fail to close-in on the pace-setters.
