George Lebese's time to take center stage has arrived. He has always shown star potential, however he was still developing and inconsistent. Last season he started very well, scoring 7 goals before picking up a long-term injury. He could be Chiefs' main man this season.
Following last night’s 1-0 victory over Highlands Park, Chiefs looked like an improved side. The are some flaws in their game that need polishing and it is worrying that none of Chiefs' strikers have started firing.
On a positive note, it looks like the could be a new midfield combination is born, which will be terrorising PSL defences during the season.
It is the combination of Twala, Lebese and Ekstein otherwise known as the TLE. Defenders must expect no TLC from TLE as they threaten to be devastating like their predecessor the MALEMA (Maluleka, Lebese and Masango).
Chiefs fans won’t be overly excited by yesterday’s win, and they need Chiefs to go on a winning streak before saying anything, but there are good signs of fighting spirit and a willingness to play. Khompela was rewarded for being brave and dropping underperforming stars like Masilela, Baloyi and Parker.
Can the TLE combination be better than the MALEMA combination?
