Katlego Mphela gives Kaizer Chiefs some much needed fire power as they head into the Caf Champions League, but in the long-term, does his arrival signal that Knowledge Musona may not be staying come the end of the season.
The Zimbabwean has been on loan at Amakhosi this season, and recently hit some good form after initially struggling with injury soon after his arrival.
Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung recently revealed that they had not come to a decision on the player’s future at Naturena, with his current loan ending at the close of the season.
Mphela, having signed a pre-contract with the club before securing a six-month loan deal on deadline day, will certainly have come to Chiefs to get off the bench – after months of watching from the sidelines at Chloorkop.
The raises the question, will Mphela replace Musona as the preferred strike partner of Bernard Parker, with Kingston Nkhatha as backup, or will Chiefs push to secure Musona’s services on a long-term basis at the end of this season?
