Who will take Soweto Derby ?

With the tickets been sold out within two hours, the stage has been set and a place in the final of the Telkom Knockout is up for grabs. As well as the bragging rights to go with it. Who will write their name in Soweto History.
Going into this encounter its fair to say that the Buccaneers are the favourites and in recent times has had the upper hand. The Italian coach has had an indifferent start at Naturena, struggling in both the league and cup competitions. The pressure is mounting given the availability of Muhshin Ertugral after vacating his post at Ajax Cape Town. Whereas on the other side Micho and his team in 10 games between the two sides, have gone on a nine game unbeaten run, suffering their last defeat to Chiefs in 2014 when they lost 2-0 at the Orlando Stadium. Of those 10 games, Pirates have managed to dish up four wins, five draws and one defeat, and with their current squad they do not look like they want to give the Soweto crown away this weekend.
Having said that, this pressure can motivate Amakhosi into playing to their true potential. In the last derby at the end of October, Chiefs were plagued by numerous injury concerns. Manyama missed out, but Billiat and Castro recovered in time for the clash. The placement of Ntshangase is of utmost importance as he is one of the few players who can find a pass. Bringing the danger men into the picture.
However in the last game, Castro looked out of touch and clearly lacked match fitness, while Billiat had to be substituted before the final whistle. If Chiefs can field all three on Saturday, the sea robbers will certainly have a tough task to keep them quiet. The international break has always been good to the Glamour Boys, so I'm expecting a good game from them.
This season there is something different about Orlando Pirates, you can see there is a sense of hunger amongst the players. And part of it is due to the players buying into the idea of coach Michos tactics. They are currently on an 11 match unbeaten run in all competitions, having last tasted defeat when they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Siwelele on 18 August. In that time, Pirates have scored a total of 21 goals, spreading across the whole team evenly. Then there is the buy of the season for me which is Vincent Pule. He gives them that extra edge, and he is one of those players who needs to be watched closely if Chiefs wanna make it to the final. Having a goal involvement of 8 over 14 games , scoring 5 goals and producing 3 assists.
