The South African elite league is no doubt one of the best in the continent in terms of wealth, but one would wish the same was said football wise, knowing that, with one of the best leagues in Africa Bafana Bafana was supposed to dominate the African continent.
If the SA league is the best. Shouldn't it consist of atleast 18/20, just like the most entertaining European league's? If one looks back to the 90s where our National soccer team dominated the continent and took part in the World Cup, you will realize that back then the South African league and it's lower divisions were doing well in terms of developing players.
SAFA and the PSL should work something out, for the sake of Bafana Bafana and good development, because if there's 18/20 clubs taking part in an elite league, that will have increase the number of good players and also help for discovering youngsters. On the other hand, it can be helpful to those lower division leagues because two teams will automatically be prometed while other two can take part on playoffs, and the bottom two on elite league be demoted and other two to playoffs.
Do you think this can be helpful to our suffering football?
