South Africa is one of the most developed countries, compared to the other African countries. One would expect the same from our football, but it doesn't hold true. <any African countries are able to export more quality players to top European leagues.
It looks like the biggest problem on this, is that our players are not physically strong, compared to the other African players. If you look at Yaya Toure, John Obi Mikel, Emmanuel Adebay, just to mention few, they are all physically strong. We've seen many players failing to succeed in trials at European clubs.
I'm talking about, Sphiwe Shabalala, Oup Manyisa, Teko Modise just to mention a few. And if you can't take want better examples, bear in mind that these players are the ones that we rate as our best.
Khune also failed due to his height and, honestly, South African players must have something special in order to secure European moves, even though mostly are not moving to the top leagues, except for those who are not rated amongst the best.
What else do you is a stumbling block to our player regarding European moves?
