It comes as no surprise when one reads of Mamelodi Sundowns making a move in the transfer window. This time however it seems as if they made one right move by signing Thabo Nthethe from Bloemfontein Celtic.
After making quite a few signings on the attacking front, they have now made a defensive move, and acquired a long-term target that has featured regularly for Bafana of late.
Nthethe is now a Sundowns player after leaving Bloemfontein Celtic and the former Phunya Sele Sele captain needs no introduction as one of the top local defenders in the league at present.
Although this is a good move for the player, age is not on his side and he will have to work hard to keep a regular place in a Sundowns team that regularly raids the market.
If not, the player could soon find himself slipping down the pecking order at Chloorkop as Sundowns target even more players at the end of the season.
Nthethe signed a three and a half year deal with Sundowns and could be set to make his debut for the club this week as the Brazilians face Golden Arrows on Wednesday.
