There is no real reason for Gavin Hunt to coach Bafana Bafana, except that he needs to be tested like anybody else.
The nation would be lost if the reason to consider Hunt is his rich history with SuperSport United several years ago, where he assembled a league winning team three years in row.
Hunt’s long ball, physical play is boring and the coach has had three full seasons with Wits and is yet to win something major for the team that heavily invested in him.
The only problem with Bafana Bafana now is the lack of goal poacher and lethal strikers, so how would Hunt’s style of play solve the problem with our strikers?
The only solution for Bafana is coaches who play attractive football. Coaches like Dan Malesela, together with Serame Letsoaka and Mike Mangena as his assistants. He could give us something great to talk about as a nation.
What’s the reason for SAFA to consider hunt? Would you want a boring winning mentality rather than attractive play?
