Orlando Pirates Suffer Yet Another Mbombela Set Back

Orlando Pirates were once again left to ponder their title credibility after suffering yet another humiliating defeat at the hands of SuperSport United at the Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Buccaneers have endured heavy defeats at the hands of the Tshwane outfit over the years, most notable the 6-1 drubbling at the very same venue [Mbombela] under their former coach Munshin Ertugral. A defeat that led to the Turkish mentor resigning with immediate effect.
The Soweto giants' recent results against United indicate that they have not yet mentally recovered from that heavy defeat against the same opposition [United] three seasons ago.
The Buccaneers headed into the match with their tales up having recorded a convincing 3-1 victory against Bloemfontein Celtic in the opening match of the Absa Premiership.
However United had other thoughts on the night, with Matsatsantsa as they are famously know put The Ghost to the sword. With Bradley Grobler netting two beautiful goals in the 35th and 54th minutes after a comedy of errors from the Orlando Pirates defence for both goals.
United's Lungu Ghampani was also later on the scoresheet as United made sure that they continue with their good run against Pirates at Mbombela with a 3-0 victory.
The Buccaneers will now have to dust themselves and face tricky Highlands Park on Saturday night in the MTN8 Cup as they begin their search for first competitive silverware since 2012.
